John H. Coleman Sr.
July 31, 1933 ~ August 6, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years OldMr. John H. Coleman Sr., 84, of Youngstown, entered eternal rest on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017.
Mr. Coleman was born July 31, 1933, in Sylacauga, Ala., a son of Henry and Ary M. Ridgeway Coleman.
He had been employed with Youngstown Sheet & Tube, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and served as a deacon. John’s passion was gardening and working outdoors in his yard.
He leaves to mourn his passing, but to rejoice in his peace, his wife, the former Catherine Perkins, of Youngstown; his son, John H. Coleman Jr of Louisville, Ky; two grandchildren, Jayshawn Coleman of Youngstown and Johnae` Coleman of Gahanna; two brothers, Simmie (Jeannie) Coleman and Roosevelt (Virginia) Coleman , both of Youngstown; three sisters, Ann Gamble of Youngstown, Shirley Green and Daisy Mae Oden, both of Alabama; sisters-in-law Grace (Ellis) Green and Ilean Willingham both of Youngstown, Ethel Dean Parm of Pomona, Calif. and Mae Stallworth of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; two brothers-in-law, Cecil (Beatrice) Perkins of Niagara Falls and Zeke Thornton of Kansas City, Kan.; and a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Willie Coleman; and sister Pearl Thornton.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow immediately at 10 a.m.
