Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mrs. Edna Mae Jones, 78, of Youngstown who passed away, Monday, August 29, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Terri, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Jones was born January 30, 1938 in Youngstown, a daughter of Dewey G. and Florence Small Sims.   She attended Youngstown City Schools and had been employed with J. C. Penney Co. and F. W. Woolworth.  For over 18 years, she worked as a interpreter with Youngstown Hearing and Speech, retiring in 2007.   She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses – Campbell Congregation, where she served as a Pioneer for the Witnesses.  She was baptized September 27, 1969.  She loved line dancing, ballroom and tap dancing.   Edna also enjoyed playing the piano/keyboard and baseball, cooking, was a videographer, and was a baby sitter for many over the years. 

She leaves to cherish her beloved memories, four children, Marcella (Raymond) Simmons of Alabama, Florence Everson, Terri Ingram and Roy (Candace) Jones, Jr. all of Youngstown; 2 brothers, Garland Sims, Sr. and Pierce Sims both of Youngstown; 22 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded by her first husband, Isaac Ingram; second husband,  Roy Jones, Sr., whom she married in 1976 and who passed away December 28, 2008; four children, Vernon, Isaac and Sandra Ingram, and Edna Clark; two sisters, Mary Sims and Ada Merchant; four brothers, Robert, Bernard, James and George Sims.

Friends may call Friday from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
