Memorial Services will be held 2:00pm Friday October 28, at L.E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home for Vanessa Phillips who departed this life October 18,2016 at Essex 1 Nursing Facility in Salem. 

Vanessa was born October 15, 1963 in Youngstown a daughter of Cobie and Adelle Jackson Phillips.  She was a graduate of East High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. She attended ITT, YSU and Barbizon Fashion School in Florida.  Vanessa had attended Phillips Chapel COGIC and Nevels Temple COGIC. She loved sewing crocheting and designing clothes.  She loved her family dearly.                                                          

She is survived by four sisters, Betty Whitman, Linda, Roberta and Keisha Phillips; brothers Cobie Jr., Michael (Roxanne) Phillips and Matthew Abrams all of Youngstown and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ernestine Phillips, two brothers Timothy Phillips and Raymond Hayes and her Grand-parents.  Friends may call a half hour prior to the services 1:30-2:00 pm.
