Services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2016 at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church for Ms. Annie Cora Gilbert, 72, of Harrisburg, Pa. (formally of Youngstown) who passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at Pinacle Health Community General Hospital.

Ms. Gilbert was born January 4, 1944 in Youngstown, a daughter of Thomas and Susie Mae Hunter Dixon. She attended Youngstown City Schools and was a state certified Nursing Assistant. She was employed as a Nurse’s Assistant with Beeghley Oaks Nursing Home and was self-employed as a private duty aid. She also worked as a cook at Lincoln Place, Home Place and Floyd’s BBQ. Annie was a former member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church.  She enjoyed watching basketball, baseball, cooking, playing Bingo and playing social cards. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She leaves to forever cherish her memories, her children, Diane (Willie) Bender of Harrisburg, Tanya Gilbert of Baldwyn, Miss., and Macilla (Michael Sr.) Grace of Youngstown, Louis (Lisa) Gilbert of Guntown, Miss., Christopher Gilbert of NC., Lamar (Karen) Gilbert of Kansas; a stepson, Clarence (Michelle) Brooks of Youngstown; a sister, Gloria Palmer Dixon of Columbus; a brother, Robert Dixon of Youngstown; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; a niece, who is like a sister to her, Carol (Stephen) Brown of Warren; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Friends may call Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church.
