Mr. William A. Moxley, 86, of Youngstown departed this life Monday, February 16, 2026.
Mr. Moxley, affectionately known as “Snake” and “Bill”, was born December 7, 1939, in Youngstown, a son of Charles A. and Margaret Fortner Moxley. Mr. Moxley was a 1957 graduate of North High School. He had been a loyal employee for 34 years as the Paint Department manager with General Motors Lordstown, retiring April 1, 2002. Bill was a U. S. Army veteran.
His favorite pastime was bowling, and he traveled state wide in competition winning many trophies and award. He had been a member of the Youngstown Travelers Bowling Assoc., National Black Bowlers Assoc., B & B Bowling League, Monday Night Mix, F. D. Mason Classic, T.N.B.A. Church League, National Travelers and Southern Tavern Bowling League. He was also an officer with Youngstown Men’s Bowling Association, Director of Greater Youngstown Bowling Assoc. and Youth Bowling Assoc.
He leaves to forever cherish his beloved memory, five siblings, Russell Moxley of San Diego, CA, Jurwood (Maree) Moxley of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Betty Moxley and Sandra Moxley both of Lancaster, OH, Delores (Dennis) McKay of Norristown, PA; nephews, Sean Moxley and Jenaro Moxley; nieces, Tori Moxley, Margaret McKay and Delores McKay; special dear friends, Carolyn Williams and Eddie (Lara) Garcia; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pearl Moxley.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 1:30 – 2:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 2:00. p.m.
