Wilber Hightower

            Mr. Wilber Hightower, 78, of Youngstown, Ohio, departed this life May 9, 2025.

            Mr. Hightower was born July 27, 1946 in Opelika, Alabama, a son of Wilber and Florida Heflin Hightower.  He was a 1964 graduate of South High School.  Wilber had been employed with Delphi Packard Electric, retiring after 30 years of service.  He was a sports fanatic and enjoyed, traveling, writing poetry and affirmations.

            He leaves to cherish his memory and to celebrate his life and legacy, two sons, Bryant McGauley of Columbus and Maurice (Jennifer) Hightower of Youngstown; six grandchildren, Toya, Bryant Jr., Amari, Gianna, Chevar and Jamire; 26 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren; a sister, Jeanette Hightower of Phoenix, AR; and a host of family and friends.

            Visitation will be Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Rd., Youngstown.  Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m.
