It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Vivian Watson, age 93, of Youngstown, Ohio. She passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, following a long illness.
Vivian was born on February 10, 1932, to William and Alberta Brown Watson. She attended East High School and was employed by Servi-Clean Industries. She was also a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family.
Vivian loved traveling and going to the casinos. She also loved shopping, cooking, and watching her favorite soap operas, The Young and the Restless and General Hospital. She was a big fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, especially during the years when LeBron James played for the team. Vivian lived a life filled with love and joy, cherishing time spent with her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Vincent S. (Belinda) Thomas, and her daughter-in-law, Gina Watson. Her grandchildren Tia Watson, Ray (Sabrina) Watson Jr., Ryan (Nicci) Watson, Vincent Thomas Jr., Carlton Watson, Anthony Young, and Porsha Corley. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Larry (Carol) Watson, Ray Watson, and Vicky Speed; her brothers, Thomas, Thomas C., William, and Amos; and her sisters, Beatrice, Clara, and Grace.
Services will be held at Rising Star Baptist Church on Saturday, April 5, 2025. There will be a wake beginning at 9:00 a.m., and the funeral service will begin at 9:45 a.m.
