Ms. Vickie Lynn Williams, 73, of Youngstown, transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in Cleveland Clinic with her family at her side.
Vickie was born September 26, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of Roy Oscar and Jeannette Willis Strozier. She was a 1968 graduate of South High School and also attended Youngstown State University. Vickie had worked as a Turnkey with the Youngstown Water Department for 34 years, retiring in 2012. She was a member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church and its choir; and a former member of the Order of Easter Star. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, playing games (especially Yatzee), and being with her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her beloved memory, her devoted daughter, Samara J. Reed; two grandchildren, Taylor Lynn Burkley and Mara Jeannette Reed Newell; and her nephew, Earl K. Sykes all of Youngstown; and a host of other family and friends.
Greeting her at Heaven’s Gate were her parents; a brother, Roy Raymond Strozier; her ex-husbands, Earl M. Reed and Willie Williams; and 13 aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be Friday, May 3, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Friendship Baptist Church, 646 Lakewood Ave., Youngstown. A celebration of her life and legacy will follow at 11:00 a.m.
