Tyrone E. Wright Sr., a proud graduate of Liberty High School and a United States Navy veteran who honorably served his country during Operation Desert Storm as a Radioman, passed away on May 28, 2026, at the age of 56.
Tyrone was born on May 6, 1970 in Youngstown. Throughout his life, he was known for his strength, dedication to family, and commitment to serving others. His military service reflected his patriotism and willingness to answer the call of duty.
He leaves his mother, Patty L. Dean; and his stepmother, Golie Stennis. He is survived by his children, Nickelle Summers, Saša Wright, and Tyrone Wright Jr. Tyrone is also survived by his brothers, Terry Wright Sr. and Stephen Taylor Sr., and his sisters, Tina Wright and Lashawn Taylor. He was a proud uncle to Tyterion Wright, Chris Wright, Stephen Taylor Jr., Terry Wright Jr., and Cierra Young, along with many other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Tyrone was preceded in death by his father, Henry Stennis Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Stonewall Jackson Wright Sr. and Katie Mae Robinson; and his paternal grandparents, Eliza Stennis Wade and Henry Stennis Sr.
His memory will live on through the lives he touched, the family he loved, and the legacy of service, strength, and perseverance he leaves behind.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 12, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Rd, Youngstown. His life and legacy will be celebrated at 12:00 noon.
