Twintella Turner Obituary

Mrs. Twintella Turner, 61, of Akron, transitioned to eternal life on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Akron General Hospital.

            Mrs. Turner, lovingly known as “Twinkle”, was born December 20, 1962 in Jacksonville, Florida, a daughter of James Carter and Annie B. Bryant.  She was a 1981 graduate of South High School.  She had been employed at several venues, namely, Tot’s Haven Pre-School, Petrillo’s Pizza, Sears & Roebuck, Easco Aluminum and Walmart as a clerk for eight years in the Money Center.  She was a member of Fellowship Tabernacle Christian Center and a former member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church.  Twinkle enjoyed plants, cooking, movies and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

            She leaves to forever cherish her memory, two children, Johnndalyn Turner and Jalil (Yndia) Turner; her high school sweetheart and former husband of 17 years, John L. Turner; two brothers, Reginald V. Carter and Kenneth J. Hardret (whom she reared); other siblings, Merriam Fields, Sarah Harden, James Carter, Harold Carter, Emmanuel Carter, George Carter, Arthur Carter, Renwick Carter, Lenore "Kitten" Jones, Rochelle Richardson, Tabatha Richardson and Glorise Richardson; a grandson, Xiare L. Turner; her best friend, Angela Burns; her furry friend, Louie; godchildren, Nakeya N. Shipman and Roland J. Adams III; and a host of family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her father; mother and stepfather, Annie and James Hardret Sr.; her son, John Lamont Turner Jr.; siblings, James Earl Carter, Victor Hardret, James “Jimmy” Hardret Jr. and Andre’ Richardson; her grandmothers, Mittie Phillips and Willie Bankston; grandfathers, Hardy Bryant, and Charlie Carter.

            Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Fellowship Tabernacle Christian Center.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.  Friends may also view from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.  Guests are asked to wear masks.
