Troy Bullock, a vibrant soul and beloved son, passed away peacefully in the privacy of his home on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the age of 54. Born in Warren, Ohio on November 21, 1970, Troy had lived a life filled with creativity, rhythm and heartfelt connections.
A spirited sports enthusiast and proud member of the Kumba Drum Core, Troy brought energy and joy to every space he entered. He was the visionary founder of the Youngstown, Ohio Chapter of Black Watch, a role through which he promoted cultural awareness, unity, and leadership within his community. Troy also had a deep passion for creating computer musical phrases using digital tools, blending rhythm with innovation in a way uniquely his own.
Troy leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, cherished by his mother, Rita Bullock Evans; father, John Bullock and stepmother, Doris Bullock. He was a devoted father to Amber Bullock, Jalynn Gayles, and Trae Davis, who will carry forward his warmth, wit and artistic spirit. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings, Kose Moja, Trenton Bullock, Andrae Turner, and Rosalyn Turner along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss his fun-loving nature.
Troy’s journey through life was infused with purpose and rhythm, and those who knew him will always remember the beat he brought to their lives. His memory will resonate forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 1:30 – 2:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
