Sterling Joel Cosper

Mr. Sterling Joel Cosper, 34, of Youngstown, Ohio, transitioned from this earthly labor to his eternal rest on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Sterling was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and love touched countless lives.

Sterling was born on October 26, 1991, to James A. Cosper Jr. and Margaret R. Dickerson Cosper. He was a graduate of Liberty High School and later earned his CDL certification from the New Castle School of Trades. Sterling dedicated over 15 years of his life to the trucking industry and was most recently employed by Tom’s Septic Tank Service.

Sterling was an avid gamer who enjoyed playing video games and creating content for his YouTube channel, SPREADRPG00. He was a devoted fan of the Carolina Panthers and had a passion for automobiles. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family, especially his nephews, whom he loved dearly.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, James A. Cosper Jr. and Margaret R. Dickerson Cosper of Liberty Township; five siblings, Octavia A. Cosper and Teaquan L. Cosper, both of Liberty Township, James A. (Jessica) Cosper III of Cuyahoga Falls, Marcus S. Cosper of Columbus, Juanita R. Cosper of Hinesville, Georgia, and bonus sister Kimberly Johnson.

Sterling also leaves behind nephews whom he loved as younger brothers: Kendall Smith Jr. of Columbus, James Cosper IV of Cuyahoga Falls, and Tre and Tye Spinks of Austintown.

Affectionately known as “Uncle Sterling,” he will be lovingly remembered by Omar Smith of Liberty Township, George Revere Jr. and Julia Revere of Hinesville, Georgia. He was also a proud great-uncle to Kendall Smith III of Columbus and Priti Spinks of Clairton, Pennsylvania, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Sterling was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Bernice Cosper, and Raymond and Juanita Dickerson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at The Light Church, 1350 Katherine Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44505. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.
