Simeon Felder Obituary

Simeon Lamar Felder Sr., age 52, of Youngstown Ohio, transitioned from this life on May 5, 2026, leaving a lifetime of memories, laughter, and connections that will never be forgotten.

Simeon was born August 18, 1973 in Youngstown, Ohio, son of Ezekiel Felder and Kavillion Felder. He graduated from East High School in 1992 and later attended Cleveland State University for several semesters before beginning his career with General Motors in 1996. Over the next 30 years, he built a respected career, defined by hard work, loyalty, and commitment.

Beyond his work, he will be remembered for the way he lived- fully and freely, and most importantly on his own terms. He loved deeply in his own way- sometimes quietly, sometimes through humor, presence, or shared moments that spoke louder than words ever could. He didn’t just simply go through life, he experienced it. The good, the bad, and the ugly were all a part of his journey and he carried it all, and he did so with strength, authenticity, and a spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He had an aura that naturally drew people in; being around him just felt familiar, easy, and genuine. And if you weren't going to do anything else, you were going to laugh around this … “Joint” and have a good time.

One of the things that brought him the most joy was technology. Whether it was the newest gadget, gaming system, phone, computer, or new innovation, he approached it with the excitement of a child on Christmas morning, always eager to learn and explore every feature and naturally share his enthusiasm with those around him. His love and passion for technology is one thing he inherited from his father.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ezekiel Felder.

He is survived by his loving mother, Kavillion Felder; his children: Dominique D.S. Felder, Simone L. Felder, Ta’Nayziah U. Miles, and Simeon Lamar Felder Jr.; his grandchildren: Ta’Layah U. Miles and Ty’Layziah U. Miles, with another due to enter the world August of 2026; his siblings: David Felder and Deborah Cox; with a host of nieces and nephews.

I also would like to take the time to acknowledge his UAW/GM family (yes, I said family) and friends. Thank you for providing him with another home. Within 30 years, he has formed bonds and friendships with some that went far beyond the workplace. He wasn’t just a coworker but a genuine friend. You guys played a big part in his life and contributed to a lot of his stories. I want to thank you for your kindness, brotherhood, and shared memories that meant more to him and to us than words could fully express.
