“A Time to Be Born”

Shirley Jackson was born to Clifton and Dolores Williams-Harden on December 12, 1946, in Youngstown, Ohio.    

“A Time to Live”

Shirley was a graduate of The Rayen High School, attended Choffin Career Center, and achieved her BA Degree in Nursing from Youngstown State University. Shirley had been employed as a Registered Nurse (RN) for 29 years at the former Northside Hospital prior to her retirement in 1996. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and the Youngstown-Warren Ohio Black Nurses Association. She had a fondness for and enjoyed hobbies such as crocheting, ceramics, playing/attending sporting events such as softball, skating, racquetball, baseball, etc. She also had a love for traveling for which she had the good fortune of having many great traveling experiences both domestically and internationally with travel clubs, friends, and her favorite travel partner, her husband Bob.

On Thursday, June 13, 2024, Shirley gently entered into paradise (as to we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord)…

“A Time to Be Mourn”

Shirley leaves behind to mourn and to cherish her memory, life, and legacy her devoted husband Bob Sr. of 50 years whom she married November 17 1973; daughter Symone and her children Marcus Jackson & Justin Hurt all of Baltimore, MD; four step-children, Toni Jackson, Robert (Karen) Jackson of Baltimore; Carla (Mace) Copeland of Dawson, PA; Derrick (Kenya) Bell of Harrisburg, PA; 10 step grandchildren; sister Lynne Smith of Girard, OH, and a host of other family members and friends. Preceding her in death are both parents and brother Clifton Jr.
