Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mrs. Sarah Pearl Thomas, 73, of Youngstown, who departed this life Monday, May 6, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Mrs. Thomas, affectionately known as “Tussi”, was born July 26, 1945 in Leeds, Alabama, a daughter of Minnie Pearl Pace. She had been employed with both Southside and Northside Hospitals for 25 years, retiring in 2007. Sarah was a member of Love Deliverance Center and attended its Bible Study. She enjoyed walking, cooking and baking, but her passion was being with her family.
She leaves to cherish her life and legacy, three children, Phillip David (Howarlette) Pace of Liberty, Daryl Pace and Leonard W. Thomas III both of Youngstown; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; five sisters, Barbara Hopes and Carolyn A. (Tracy) Rutledge both of Youngstown, Linda Adams of Columbus, Gwendolyn (Bernard) Moore of Niles and Francine (Monroe) Jennings of Cleveland; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Geneta Vivian Lilly; two brothers, Thomas Pete Pace and Michael Wayne Pace; and a granddaughter, Charlotte Pace.
Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
