Mr. Rudolph Jones, 77, of Wheatland, PA, transitioned from this earthly labor to his heavenly reward on Friday, April 4, 2025.
Mr. Jones, affectionately known as “Jim”, was born April 5, 1947, in Louisville, Mississippi, a son of James and Selma Glenn Jones. He was a 1965 graduate of Farrell High School and attended vocational school for his trade. Rudolph was proud of being an Eagle Scout. He was a member of Valley Baptist Church, its Chairman of the Trustee Board, Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, Sunday School teacher, Chairman of the Budget Committee, and a member of the Food Pantry staff. Rudolph enjoyed Western movies, but his passion was being with his family. He was a Vietnam and Desert Storm U. S. Army veteran, who received several medals – National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, Vietnamese Campaign, Combat Infantrymans Badge, Air, and One Overseas Service Bar.
He leaves to cherish his memory forever, and to celebrate his life and legacy, two children, Ariane (Gary) Powell of Upper Marlboro, MD, and Ericka (Bill) Dungee of Hermitage, PA; three grandchildren, Christian, Zoey, and Yanna; six siblings, Anna Jones and Lilly Jones both of Farrell, PA, Juristine (Melvin) Keller of Chicago, IL, James Jones of Diamond Bar, CA, Randolph (Myrtle) Jones of Hermitage, PA; and a host of family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carol Green, whom he married on October 4, 1975, and who passed away on January 19, 2021, and two brothers, Percy Jones and Bob Glenn.
Viewing will be Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon-New Castle Road, Farrell, PA. 16121. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.
