Ms. Rosie Lee Carlisle (Gilliam), 67, of Fowler, departed this life on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Ms. Carlisle was born July 15, 1957 in Youngstown, a daughter of James E. and Juanita Perry Carlisle and adoptive parents of Ernest and Frances M. Tatum Gilliam. She was a 1976 graduate of South High School. She had worked as a custodian with Help Hotline. Rosie Lee was baptized in Jesus Name at the Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church and filled with the Holy Ghost. She served as Assistant President for Current Events at Concord Center of Hartford. She enjoyed singing, bicycling and had a flare for intellectual conversation, stayed up on political and current events, as well as being an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.
She leaves to mourn her passing, and to celebrate her life and legacy, two sisters, Ernestine Townsend and Alice Marie Carlisle both of Youngstown; a brother, Atty. James (Deborah) Carlisle of Toledo; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and adoptive parents; siblings, Geverna Baron, Ellis, Preston, Clarence R., and William Carlisle.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Rd., Youngstown. A celebration of her life will follow at 10:00 a.m.
