Mr. Robert Lee Reeves, 86, of Youngstown, transitioned to eternal peace on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at his home.
Mr. Reeves was born April 3, 1938 in Attalla, Alabama, a son of Robert “Buster” and Beatrice Branch Reeves. He had been employed with General Motors Lordstown for 40 years, retiring in 2008, and was a member of UAW Local 1112. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed constructing model ships, traveling, was a collector of shot glasses, and was a master at cooking greens. He was a U. S. Marine Corp veteran.
He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Jerome Reeves of Cleveland and Robin Thomas of Youngstown; a brother, Vernon Reeves (Queenie) of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren, LaKeshia, Danielle, Marisa, Teleza, Noah, Alicia and Melvin; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Betty Jean Davis, whom he married in 1967 and who passed away in 2010; a daughter, Donna Thomas; and siblings, William Reeves, Ernestine Reeves-Wiggins, Arma Jean Reeves-Archie, and Christine Reeves.
Visitation will be Monday, July 1, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Zion Hill Baptist Church 220 Jefferson Street, Youngstown. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon.
