Robert Clyde "June" Gore, Jr.

            Mr. Robert Clyde Gore Jr., 92, of Campbell, OH, transitioned to his heavenly home on Friday, June 26, 2026 at his home.

            Mr. Gore, affectionately known as “June”, was born February 14, 1934 in Campbell, OH, a son of Robert Clyde Sr. and Lena Bankhead Gore.  He was a career Sgt. First Class with the U. S. Army having served for 26 years, and retiring in 1982.  After his years in the military, Robert worked as bank security in the Lincoln Knolls Plaza for many years.  He was a former member of Greater Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and in the Male Chorus.  He was presently a member of Gospel Temple Baptist Church. He was also a 33rd degree Mason with the King Solomon Lodge #15.

            Robert enjoyed dancing, western movies, singing, traveling, Bible reading and being with his loving family and friends.  Robert was an avid Cleveland Browns and Guardians fan.

            He leaves to mourn his passing, but to celebrate his life and legacy, his daughter, Robben “Porkey” Gore Hayes of Campbell; two grandsons, Robert Hayes and James H. Torbert III; three great grandchildren, Antwan, James IV and Shariah; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Gore and Laura Gore; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

            Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary J. Vaughn, whom he married February 19, 1955 and who passed away, April 4, 2006; his siblings, Alice, Loretta, Leola, Mary, Earl Sr., John and Leroy Sr.

            Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Gospel Temple Baptist Church, 279 Whipple Ave., Campbell, OH 44405.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 12:00 noon.

            Arrangements were entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home.
