Renetta Jean Thomas

Ms. Renetta Jean Thomas, 72, of Youngstown departed this life on June 11, 2025 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.  

Renetta was born June 21, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Rev. Jefferson Thomas Sr. and Elzora Barron Frederick.  She was a member of Kingdom Fellowship Community Church.  Renetta worked in the culinary industry for many years, and enjoyed filling her loved ones bellies with delicious cuisines.  She was employed by several nursing facilities lastly retiring from Danridge Burgundi Manor as their head chef.  She enjoyed shopping, cooking of course, dancing, casinos trips and Bingo but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing but to rejoice in her peace, her son, Brian Thomas of Youngstown; siblings, Carolyn Taylor of Youngstown, Rose (Rev. Will Parker Jr.) of Kileen, Texas, David Michael Thomas, Deidra Thomas of Orwell, OH. Jefferson (Crystal) Thomas, Kimberly (Min. Mark) Thornton and Arlisa Frederick all of Youngstown, Nancy Nix of Warrensville Heights Ohio; grandchildren, D’Aundray Brown, Janae Thomas, Tiazia Thomas, Jordan Ferrel; two great-grands, Carmello Thomas and Jazeer Clark; an abundance of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Allen and Lunette Barron; a daughter, Sharella A. Thomas; two brothers, Wallace Brown and Curtis Hampton; two uncles, Franklin and Earl Barron. 

Visitation will be Saturday, June 21, 2025 at L.E. Black Phillips and Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Road, Youngstown, Ohio from !2:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. Her celebration of life service will begin at 1:00 p.m.
