Raymond Amill Obituary

Mr. Raymond Amill, 74, of Youngstown, transitioned from this earthly labor on Monday, June 23, 2025.
Mr. Amill was born January 27, 1951 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, a son of Ramon and Guillamina Amill.  He was a 1969 graduate of South High School.  Raymond was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  He was a coach for many young men & women – The Fighting Little Redman Football Organization and the Uptown Kiwanis Baseball & Softball League.  Raymond enjoyed playing chess, listening to music and teaching (a big history guy).  He was a role model and mentor for our community & loved his children's friends like they were his own, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Raymond leaves to cherish his memory, and to celebrate his life and legacy, four children, Ramon (fiance`, Monica McKeller) Amill of Cleveland, OH, Christopher (fiance`, Kristy Laboy) Amill Sr. of Charlotte, NC, Michael Amill of Columbus, OH, and Melissa (fiance`, Trenton Boykin) Amill of Suffolk, VA, and a daughter in law Tara Amill of Youngstown, OH; eight grandchildren, Michelle Murphy, Jalen Austin, Jordyn Austin, Jace Austin, Christopher “CJ” Amill Jr., Tarren Amill, Jurnee Amill, Kera Amill and a great grandson James Howard Ramon Smith; his siblings, Matilda Sanchez, Rosa Livingston Amill and Alicia (Alberto) Santiago all of Youngstown, and Angel (Sherron) Amill of Birmingham, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his lovely wife, Nellie, who passed away January 11, 2018; and a sister, Norma Amill.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at the New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman Street, Youngstown.  Memorial services will follow at 12:00 noon.
