Rasheedah Muhammad

            Ms. Rasheedah Tracy Muhammad, 52, of Youngstown, departed this life on Friday, January 3, 2025 at her home with her family at her side.

            Ms. Muhammad was born October 11, 1972 in Youngstown, a daughter of Robert O. and Wadee’ah Muhammad.  She was a graduate of Leonard Kirtz School and had worked at the Meshel Masco Workshop in Boardman.  Rasheedah was a vibrant soul; she embraced life with open arms and a warm heart.  She had a special gift for bringing joy to those around her, she always greeted visitors with a hug and a smile that could brighten the darkest days.  Her passion for art was evident in her love for drawing and coloring, that she loved to give a coloring page to a family member as a gift.  Music was another source of joy for her, she loved to sing and dance and there wasn’t any wheelchair going to slow her down.  She will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts.

            She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her mother with whom she made her home; her brothers, Robert A. Muhammad and Najee Muhammad; her sister, Lateefah (Ivan Sr.) Thomas; nephews, Ivan L. Thomas Jr., and Najee Muhammad II; nieces, Malia Thomas and Somaya Thomas; great nieces, Everly Thomas and Winter Muhammad; her longtime friend and co-caregiver, George Mitchell; and a host of family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her father, Robert O. Muhammad; grandparents, William and Pauline Burton, Robert and Harriet Little; uncle, William Dawan; cousins, Deidra Evans and Michele Burton.

            Visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon.
