Peggy Ann Bufford, the eldest child of Hiawatha K. and Edythe H. Floyd Bufford transitioned to her heavenly home on June 4, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at Auttman Compassionate Care, Canton, Ohio.
Peggy was born September 25, 1940 in Youngstown, Ohio. She was a graduate of Struthers High School and before retiring she was a former employee of Republic Steel Corporation and G.E. of Massillon, Ohio.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons; Duane L. (Diane Bond) Carnathan with whom she made her home and Shawn G. Arline both of East Canton, Ohio; eight sisters; JoAnn Bufford, Brenda Scarborough, Vicki (Julius) Kelley, Darlene Bufford, Toni Bufford and Patricia (Raymond) Wilson all of Youngstown; Michele (Bruce) Murphy of Strongsville, Ohio; Pia L. (Steve) of Baltimore, Maryland; four grandchildren; Duane L. “DJ” Carnathan Jr. (Shena) of Purcellville, Va.; Amanda Richardson of Canton, Ohio and Gregory and Angel Arline; five Great-grandchildren; Alexus, Kirsten, Bella, Mila, and Avoni of Canton, Ohio and a host of nieces and nephews both great and great-great.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Alan Bufford and Cochise Bufford; three sisters; Wanda Shaw, Carol E. Bell and Cheryl B. Bufford.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks for all acts of kindness and prayers shared for them during their time of bereavement. Arrangements were entrusted to L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Road Youngstown, Ohio.
