Mrs. Patricia T. Traylor 78, transitioned peacefully into Eternal Life surrounded by family at Briarfield at Ashley Circle Nursing Home on January 7, 2024.
Patricia was born on May 4, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Harry and Lena McClure Thomas. Patricia was a graduate of South High School in 1964. She was employed by General Electric/Ohio Lamp from 1964 until she retired in 2000. She was the wife of Alvin Traylor from December 23, 1988 until his passing in October 2006. She was an avid bowler for over 5 decades. She was a director of the Youngstown Women’s Bowling Associations for over 20 years. She was inducted into the Ebony Lifeline Hall of Fame in 2004. She was inducted into the Salem USBC Hall of fame in 2009. She also enjoyed spending time with family and was affectionately known as the “The Fish Lady” at the families annual Soul Food Sunday. She was an active member of St. Mark’s Victory Lutherans Church where she served in various leadership roles.
As the oldest of 11 children, she leaves to cherish her memory, her only son Maurice Vincent Harris from her marriage to Jackie Harris (1966-1985), her siblings; Arlene Mickel, Harry Thomas, Valerie Thomas, Vivian (Ory) Penny and Curtis (Theresa) Thomas all of Youngstown; Granddaughters; Alysha Symone(Johnathen) Brazzi and Daria Harris; one great-granddaughter Jaclyn Lapp. She leaves several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Lena Thomas; her husband Alvin Traylor; sisters Deloris Mendenhall, Mildred Thomas, brothers; Clifford, Kenny and Larry Thomas. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00pm at St. Mark’s Victory Lutheran Church, 280 Mill Creek Drive, Youngstown, Ohio. Services of love and dignity entrusted to L.E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home.
