Pastor Paul Loggins Obituary

Elder Paul A. Loggins heard the gentle call of our Heavenly Father…..”Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”  Mathew 25:21.

Superintendent Emeritus Paul A. Loggins, 98, of Campbell, Ohio transitioned from this earthly labor to his heavenly reward on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Elder Loggins was born July 5, 1926 in Kilmichael, Mississippi, one of six children to John Henry and Alma Knox Loggins.  Raised by his grandparents at an early age, they knew that God had a special calling on the life of Paul A. Loggins.  As time went on, he was inspired by his grandmother to give his life to the Lord, which he did in his early twenties.

In 1952 at the age of 23, Elder Loggins left Kilmichael and moved to the Steel Valley City of Youngstown, and there he lived with the Goodwine family.  After being in Youngstown for a while, he united with the Penn Avenue Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Elder J. W. Rogers, later becoming his assistant pastor.  In 1954, he married Naomi Phillips and they were married for over 35 years.

In 1964, the Lord impressed upon Pastor Loggins to establish a mission for God.  He and his wife, Naomi, began the ministry of Phillips Chapel Church of God in Christ which was located on the corner of Jacobs Road and Ashlar Avenue in Hubbard, Ohio.  It was a small store front with no gas or running water, but God promised Pastor Loggins and his wife that if they obeyed him, he would bless the ministry and souls would be saved, bodies healed and the oppressed set free.  After two renovations of the church, it was dedicated in August 1970.  Each year to celebrate the founding of this ministry there was a week of “Back Home Revival Service”, to remember how far God had brought the ministry and the souls that had been touched under his leadership.

In 1992, Mother Naomi Loggins was called home to be with the Lord, this was a great loss to Pastor as well as to the Phillips Chapel family.

As years passed, God manifested Himself to Pastor Loggins again letting him know that He was in control.  On October 19, 1997 he was joined in holy matrimony to the lovely Mother Rosia Marie Patterson of Racine, Wisconsin.  To this union, they were parents of six children. Mother Rosia was truly a blessing to the Phillips Chapel Family.  Her kindness, love and steadfastness in holiness was a great inspiration to many.

Pastor Loggins many accomplishments are as follows:
