Pamela Denise Douglas

Pamela "Pam" Denise Bishop Douglas was born March 22, 1967 in Los Angeles, California, to proud parents; Warren Peter Bishop and Suzanne Gray-Bishop. Her older sister, Andreau, was ecstatic to have a baby sister! Pam and Andreau welcomed their brother, Lamel Harris, into the family in 1971.

The family moved to Northern California in 1973. There, Pam developed a strong relationship with her grandmother, Hazel Luckey. Hazel nurtured and loved-on her beautiful grandchildren, but had a special place for Pam. During this time, Pamela grew into a bright, intelligent child, who deeply loved her family.

In 1975,the family expanded to include Bobby Aitchison, and two daughters: Aisha and Tamua. The blended family created close relationships, enjoying fun times on “Jules Street", living in the City by the Bay, San Francisco. In 1985,the family relocated back to San Jose where Pam graduated from Pioneer High School.

On February 14, 1988, Pam welcomed into the world her first son, Donte’ Pittman. Pam was an exceptional first time Mommy, enjoying motherhood with all its blessings and challenges.

After relocating Arlington, TX, Pam locked eyes with the love of her life, Stephen Douglas at a stop sign. “Pull over!” was the opening line and the beginning of a 30 year love story!! Stephen and Pam welcomed their first child, Khalia Elizabeth on July 11, 1995.

The family relocated to Youngstown, OH, Pam quickly settled into her new life. She was an exceptional mom who enjoyed gardening and cooking delicious meals for her family. She was a tireless mother, who supported her childrens every endeavor. On January 17,1997, Stephen and Pam welcomed a baby boy, Anthony Ray. Pam also embraced Stephanie, Brittany, and Aapri with their children into her ever growing family.

As the kids grew and began their military journey, Pam’s love for knowledge and self-development was reignited. In 2020, she went back to school and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University. She worked various jobs including, The Vindicator Newspaper and the Youngstown Police Department. She took great pride in her work. Pam's final job was with the Youngstown Engineering & Construction Department.

Pam adored her family and traveled to spend quality time with them. She was a proud and devoted grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her beloved family. Whether in Virginia, California orTexas, she always made time for quality visits, ensuring her love was felt deeply. Her presence was a constant source of warmth and joy, and her grandchildren were blessed by her endless affection.

 Pamela Denise Bishop-Douglas was preceded in death by her maternal grandmothers, Hazel Luckey and Alida Bishop; her father, Warren Peter Bishop; her sister, Tamua Aitchison and her nephew, Christopher Malik. She leaves to cherish her memory- husband, Stephen Douglas; mother, Suzanne Bishop, CA.; stepfather, Bobby Aitchison (Lula); sisters, Andreau Bishop, CA., Aisha Britt (Tariq) CA.; brother, Lamel Harris, CA.; sons, Donte’ Pittman (Trish), TX; Anthony Douglas, TX.; daughter, Khalia, VA.;

14 grandchildren; one great grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Pam's love and beautiful spirit will be missed by many.

                Visitation will be Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Road, Youngstown, OH 44505.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.
