Norman J. Adams, Sr.

Mr. Norman J. Adams Sr., 81, departed this life on Wednesday July 9, 2025 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. 

Mr. Adams was born October 18, 1943 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Jessie and Beatrice McClure Adams. He graduated from East High School. He had been employed by the B&0 Railroad Company as a cook and rail worker. He was a member of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church.  He loved watching wrestling and movies, he loved to Bar-B-Que, which his family enjoyed, playing chess, a diehard Cleveland Browns fan and being with family.

He leaves to mourn his passing but to rejoice in his peace, his twins, son Shawn Adams of Youngstown, and daughter, Shawna Adams of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Prophetess Shirley Adams of Youngstown; seven grandchildren; DeAndre Robinson, Kendall Montgomery, Priya, Alexis, Kennedy, Kelsey and Skylar Adams.

Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Gloria Dubois Adams, who passed away January 23, 2021; his In-laws, Elijah and Elnora DuBois; son Norman Jr. and daughter Sonja Adams. 

Visitation will be Friday, July 18, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at L. E. Black Phillips and Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Road Youngstown, Ohio 44505 with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m.
