Norma Jean Sheeler

            Ms. Norma Jean Sheeler, 77, of Youngstown, departed this life Friday, April 19, 2024 at Humility House Nursing Home.

            Ms. Sheeler was born June 13, 1946 in Youngstown, a daughter of Jesse Jr. and Mary Ellen Atchison Henry.  She was a homemaker and had worked at General Motors Lordstown for three years.  Norma was a former membe of Greater Friendship Baptist Church.  She enjoyed caring for house plants, interior decorating, music, game shows and bingo.

            She leaves to forever cherish her memory, her two daughters, Erva J. (Christopher) Sheeler Hopson of Federal Way, WA, and Marilyn K. Sheeler of Homestead, PA; three grandchildren, Christianna Hopson, Channon Hopson and Matthew Sheeler; three sisters, Vanessa Henry and Mary Ann Henry both of Youngstown, and Donna Henry of California; three brothers, Ronnie, Ernest and Donald of Youngstown; a niece, Shantay Thompson; and a host of other family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents.

            A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.  Memorial services to follow.
