Nettie "Beechie" Gray

            Ms. Nettie Gray, 71, of Youngstown, transitioned from her labor to her heavenly reward on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at her home with her family at her side.

            Ms. Gray, lovingly known as “Beechie”, was born May 30, 1953 in Youngstown, a daughter of Tommie and Alberta Higgins.  Nettie attended Youngstown City Schools. After graduation, Nettie was employed with General Motors Lordstown for 40 years, retiring in 2009.  Nettie was a wonderful cook who enjoyed feeding her family and others.  She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and social games.

            She leaves to cherish her memories and to celebrate her life and legacy, her only son whom she loved dearly, Tommie Gray (Yolanda West) of Youngstown; two granddaughters, Keyonna Taylor of Youngstown and Tommiya Gray of Indiana; a great grandson, Anthony Taylor of Youngstown; and a host of loving family and friends. 

            Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Higgins; and four sisters, Linda, Denise, Mary Lee and Margie Higgins.

            A memorial service will be held at a later date.
