Mrs. Maxine Phillips, 76, of Youngstown, transitioned to eternal rest on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Windsor – Guardian Health Center with her family at her side.
Mrs. Phillips, the oldest of twelve children, was born June 19, 1949 in Vidalia, Georgia, a daughter of Toney R. Sr. and Essie Foreman Phillips. She was a 1967 graduate of Hubbard High School. Maxine had been employed with General Motors Lordstown, retiring after 30 years of service. She was a member of Bibleland Church of God In Christ and it’s choir. She was also a member of The Rayen Booster Club, Loved Rooster Decorations, was a jokester and an excellent cook. Maxine loved her family and she will be sadly missed.
She leaves to forever cherish her memory and to celebrate her life and legacy, her mother; three children, Steven (Lisa) Corey Phillips Sr. of Charlotte, NC, Roy Donaldson, Jr. and Angie (Leroy) Jackson both of Youngstown; two grandchildren, Devonte Housley Sr., and Steven Corey Phillips Jr.; three stepchildren, Rev. Kenneth (Roslyn) Donaldson of Youngstown, Tony (Faye) Donald of Warren, and Tonya (DeMario) Ridgeway of Columbus; siblings, Valerie Mauzy, Minister Anthony Phillips, Sherry Phillips, Tonette Phillips, Elder Terrace (Marie) Phillips, Loretta Phillips and Christa Grey all of Youngstown.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Toney R. Phillips; two brothers, Evangelist Travis Phillips and Minister Tyrone Phillips; a sister, Beverly Phillips; and great grandson, Devonte Housley Jr.
Visitation will be Friday, June 27, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Bibleland COGIC, 3767 Jacobs Rd., Hubbard, Ohio 44425. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon.
