Mrs. Mary Bunice Morgan, 80, of Blacklick, Ohio formerly of Youngstown, transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at her home.
Mrs. Morgan was born December 18, 1945 in Marshville, North Carolina, a daughter of Grady and Sarah Harold Deese. She was a graduate of East Union High School in North Carolina, and attended Youngstown State University. Upon moving to Youngstown at age 18, Mary started her career as an auditor at Delphi Packard Electric, retiring after 33 years in 2005. Mary was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where she served as Deaconess; former first lady of Great Ebenezer Baptist Church where her husband was a former pastor, Rev. Clarence Morgan, and also served as a Sunday School teacher. She was owner/operator of “Todaz Menu” bakery in Youngstown. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, crocheting, solitare, suduko, and being with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Rev. Corneill (Kendra) Morgan of Youngstown, David C. Morgan of Atlanta, GA, Judie (Juan) Figueroa and Philip (Alberta) Morgan both of Columbus; stepchildren, Timothy (Althea) Jackson of Akron, Tanya Morgan of Youngstown and Tyrone Morgan of New York; 16 grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a brother, David Lynn Deese of South Carolina; three sisters, Emma (Artis) Smith of Winston-Salem, NC, Denise (William) Lindsey of Monroe, NC, and Sarah (Anthony) Paplion of Marshville, NC; her best friend, Karen Faulkner; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Clarence Morgan, whom she married January 11, 1978 and who passed away November 9, 2017; her son, Ronald Morgan; and a brother, Grady Deese Jr.
Visitation will be Monday, May 4, 2026 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church, 110 Funston Street, Youngstown, OH 44510. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
