Mrs. Mary Hayes

          Mrs. Mary Hayes, 88, of Youngstown victoriously entered Heaven's gates on Friday, September 27, 2024.

          Mrs. Hayes was born on February 7, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Henderson Farley and Lizzie Mae Bowman. She was a High School graduate in Alabama and attended a missionary school in Canada. Mrs. Hayes was married to her loving husband Bishop McCarthy Hayes. Mrs. Hayes was an ordained Elder in the United Holy Church of America, Inc. and a missionary in Africa, residing there for over 28 years since the 1950’s and returning to Youngstown at the start of Liberia's civil war. The mission that she and Bishop Hayes founded in the late 1960's called Hayes Mission of Monrovia, Liberia, There are over 70 children who resides at that mission.

          She leaves to mourn her passing, yet to celebrate her life and legacy; three children, Faith Hayes of Birmingham, AL, McLarsee Patmon of Youngstown, Mark Hayes; (14) Grandchildren Including Ashanti Patmon; (4) sisters-in-law, Gladys Wilson of Detroit, MI., Marva Wilson, Ida Hayes, Dr. Louise A. Hayes M.D., a brother-in-law, Norris “Dank” Hayes, and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

          Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Bishop McCarthy Hayes; (3) brothers, William Farley, Abron Farley, Grady Bowman, and (3) sisters, Georgia Lou Stoudmire, Emma Neal Davis, and Yvonne Moncrief.

          Visitation will be on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Beulah Temple United Holy Church of America, 523 Griffith St, Yo., OH., 44510. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m.
