Martha Bobson Venable, 100, was born on March 14, 1925 in Youngstown, OH, to parents of Hazel Walls and Ted Bobson.
Martha was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her children and she loved being with her grandchildren. She helped raise her grandchildren, Sharonda Cox and Sylvester Cox III. She was a fashionista who loved shopping, nice purses, turquoise stone jewelry, and tons of shiny gemstones. She was a women who touched the hearts of many, and had a unique way of making each family member feel special and loved. As Martha heads home to be with the Lord, she leaves to cherish her precious memory two children, Hazel Pugh of Cleveland, OH and Frank Venable of Youngstown, OH; her love extends far beyond her own children as she also leaves behind a remarkable number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and beyond spanning an incredible six generations.
She was preceded in death by her father & mother, her husband, Russell Venable Sr.; and her children Russell Venable Jr., Gertrude Venable Collins, Gloria Venable North, Phillip Venable, LaVerne Venable Harrison, Sandra Venable Anderson, Joseph Venable, and Clifford Venable.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 24 2025 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Avenue, Youngstown. A Celebration of Life follow at 10:00 a.m.
Ministry of comfort, dignity and love was entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home.
