Mr. Mark Edward Harp, 59, of Youngstown, transitioned from this earthly labor to eternal peace on Friday, June 27, 2025 at the Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Mr. Harp was born October 29, 1965 in Youngstown, a son of Richard Henry and Emma Marie Bodrick Harp. Mark was an artist and conversationalist. Watching sports and playing card games with family and friends was his pastime. As a child he was a member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church, its Youth Renaissance Ministry under the leadership of Mother Edith Wallace; he also attended Youth Services on Friday evenings. Mark was an avid Dallas Cowboys and L. A. Lakers fan.
He leaves to mourn his passing, but to celebrate his life and legacy, his son, Marcus Lovell Harp of Washington, DC; three daughters, Michelle L. Harp and Mone`t L. Wells both of Youngstown, and Taja C. Hobbs of Huntsville, Alabama; a sister, Elaine (Dorian) Harp Baugh of Lewis Center, OH; grandchildren; three devoted nieces and a nephew; treasured cousin and friend, Daryl Bodrick and Latrell Wells; a devoted caregiver, Lynn; and a host of loving family and friends.
Besides his parents, Richard and Marie E. Harp, he was preceded in death by his older sister.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Bishop C. Shawn Tyson will officiate.
