Mrs. Margaret Ann Lacy, 92, of Youngstown, departed this life on January 30, 2025 at her home with her family at her side.
Mrs. Lacy was born June 18, 1932 in Buffalo, New York, a daughter of Avon and Mamie Rucker Duval. Margaret moved with her daughter Connie and grandson, Michael where she made her home, and they bonded by making new memories. Margaret loved all her grandchildren, family, friends and church family. She had worked with the then Western Reserve Care System (Northside and Southside Hospitals), retiring after 27 years of service. She was a member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, its Deaconess Ministry and had been the chair of the Church Anniversary Committee. Margaret enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud and wrestling; and became an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Her passion, however, was being with her beloved family.
She leaves to mourn her passing, but to celebrate her life and legacy, her daughter, Constance “Connie” Rodgers of Youngstown; her son, George “Butch” Duval of Warren; a brother, Colonel Aaron Duval of Petersburg, Michigan; six grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents, and husband, Charles Lacy, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jones; a brother, Robert Duval; three sisters, Helen Corn, Carma Wilson and Mary Gillam; a grandson, Tommy Jones;
Visitation will be on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Himrod Avenue, Youngstown 44506. A celebration of her life will follow at 11:00 a.m.
