Mrs. Lucille Vivian Bebbs entered eternity peacefully on December 17, 2024, in the serene sanctuary of her beloved home in Youngstown, Ohio. Born on May 11, 1945, Lucille was a cherished daughter of Frederick Douglas Traylor Sr. and Thelma Johnson Traylor. A life-long resident of Youngstown, Lucille spent her life nurturing those she loved and serving her community with grace and dedication.
Attending North High and the Rayen Schools, Lucille's journey was marked by her carefree nature despite facing life’s adversities. As she raised her family, she embarked upon on a career devoted to the care and nourishment of young minds, spending several years as a cafeteria aid at the former Harrison Elementary. Later, her compassionate nature led her to serve as a State Tested Nursing Assistant at former Little Forest Nursing, where she devoted more than two decades to caring for others with kindness and grace. Both experiences allowed Lucille to share her warmth and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on the families she served.
Lucille was an amazing baker, filling her home with the sweet aromas of cookies, pies, and decadent pound cakes, which she shared for the joy and comfort of friends and family alike, which was her love language. She had an appreciation for watching and even shopping on QVC and HSN networks as a delightful pastime, often inspiring her to randomly bless those she adored with gifts and surprises.
Lucille shared a beautiful union, until parted at his death, with her beloved husband, Robert L. Bebbs Sr., whom she married on November 11, 1986.
Lucille leaves behind a legacy of love through her son, Robert Bebbs III, and two daughters, Cheryl (George) Cowan and Lynette Wesley, all of Youngstown, OH. Her memory will be held close to the hearts of her dear brother, Frederick D. "Pops" (Darla “Doll”) Traylor Jr., and sisters, Dorothy Hunter, Janet Traylor, and Margaret Ali.
Lucille was also a bonus mother to four stepdaughters, Rosalee Davis, Torianna Bebbs, Roberta Murphy, and Sonya Bebbs, as well as two stepsons, Robert Bebbs Jr. and David Bebbs. She was blessed with ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren, all of whom are charged with the honor to keep her legacy vibrant for generations to come. Lucille will be fondly cherished by an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
As Lucille touched upon the celestial sands into eternity, she was embraced by her beloved husband, parents, son Lewis “Man” Wesley, a daughter Veronica Wesley, brother Edward Traylor, sisters Barbara Traylor and Joan Mitchell, grandparents Andy & Margaret Traylor, grandsons, Raylin Weaver and Brandon Wesley, great-granddaughter Raniya Royal and nephew Fredrick “Freddie” Traylor, all who escorted her to the ancestral table to join the great cloud of witnesses.
A celebration of Lucille’s life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, in the chapel of the L.E. Blacks, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory at 9:30am for visitation. The Celebration of Life services will begin at 10:00am with Rev. Lewis Macklin as celebrant. At the conclusion of the services, there will be a committal ceremony as Lucille is laid to rest alongside her husband at Belmont Park Cemetery.
