Mrs. Laura Mae Brown, 90, of Youngstown entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Mrs. Brown was born May 7, 1935 in Montgomery, Alabama, a daughter of Brack and Julia McCain Steverson. She had been employed as an aide with Youngstown City Schools, and was a devoted and loving homemaker to her family. Laura was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, its Mission, No. II Ushers, and Culinary Ministries. She was also a loyal member of Christian Love Fellowship Ladies Club. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, soap operas (Young & The Restless, Bold & Beautiful), and Family Feud game show.
She leaves to forever cherish her precious memories, three children, Larry Williams, Leatha M. (Chester) Mitchell, and Jerome Williams; nine grandchildren, Larry (Donisha), Trajmon (LaToya), Elaina (Shawn), Chevar, Kyesha, Chester Jr., Mariah (Eugene), Jayleen and Gemma; 27 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; bonus granddaughters, Asia, Jada, and Jennifer; As well as numerous family members and friends in, Lowndesboro and Montgomery, Alabama as well as Youngstown, Ohio forged though Ninety years of friendship and love.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ulice Williams; second husband, Pressley Brown; a granddaughter, L’Oreal E. Williams; and siblings, Bessie M. Williams, Lucy M. Clayton, Melvin and William Steverson.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Rd., Youngstown. Celebration of Life services will follow at 12:00 noon.
