Julia Morales Vega

Miss Julia Morales Vega, 87, of Youngstown passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Hospice House.

            Miss Vega was born April 7, 1937 in Humacao, Puerto Rico, a daughter of Victor Morales and Leonor Vega.  She was a 1955 graduate of Ana Rogue High School in Puerto Rico.  Julia was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and attended regularly until she became ill.  Julia was very active in various capacities in the church, and was a CCD teacher for many years.  She also did the Rosary.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cooking, however, her passion was going to church and taking care of her family.

            She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, her sister-in-law, Doris Morales; her nieces and nephew whom she reared, Juan (Ely Nieves) Morales, Luz Margarita (Hector Burgos), Evelyn Morales (Mateo Garcia), Mirna Rivera (Jesus Rivera), and Maria Luz Tejada (Juan Tejada);  her siblings, Jose Morales and Angela Morales; and a host of other nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; her niece whom she reared, Carmen Rosa Morales; her brothers, Fransisco, Fausto, Luis, Pedro, Alberto, Juan, Secundino, Mariano and Ramon Morales, and Juan Vega; her sisters, Carmen, Paula, Juana, and Maria.

            Visitation will be Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Rd., Youngstown, 44505; and on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown, 44507. A  Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the church.

            The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice House for their wonderful care for Julia and their consideration and compassion for the entire family.
