John Eugene “Blinky” Cade, 64 transcended from his earthly home to his Heavenly mansion on February 4, 2025 after suffering from a long illness.
John was born on September 4, 1960 in Youngstown Ohio, the son of Johnny and Alberta (Bea) Cade. He was a 1979 Youngstown City Night School graduate and an Associated Degree at Erie Tech College. John’s hobbies include traveling when he could, dancing, and bingo, but his favorite love was singing. He enjoyed being a blessing to others. John sang at different churches around the city and events. His favorite songs were “In the Name of Jesus” and “Something About The Name of Jesus.” John was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. When his health would allow it, John sang with The Instruments of Praise Choir and Senior Adult Choir. John worked at various jobs during his lifetime. He was an Intake Specialist at Salvation Army and his latest employment was at Goodwill Industries until his health no longer allowed him to work.
John leaves to cherish his loving memories, Denise Baker McConnell, aunt; Anthony Crawford Cade, nephew; Jaylen and Jayden Cade, great-nephews and Alianna Crawford-Cade, great niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents Johnny and Alberta (Bea), Cade, brothers, Thomas (Tony) Cade, grandparents Eugene & Sadie McConnell Coleman and Mary Cade Phillips. In lieu of floral gifts, please make all monetary donations to L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11:00 am at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman Street; Youngstown, Ohio 44507,
