Jeffrey Reynolds Obituary

Jeffery James (Bo) Reynolds passed away in Tampa, Florida, on December 15th, 2023.

He was born to parents James C Reynolds and Marva Rupert on September 12, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio. When he was three, his stepmother, Mother Louise Reynolds, cared for him with love and devotion. Jeffrey enrolled at North High School and later pursued his education at Miami of Ohio University, where he demonstrated exceptional skill and achievement in football. In addition, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ITT Technical Institute. Jeff is a longstanding member of The Reynolds Brothers, a musical group of himself and his four younger siblings. They have been performing together since 1969 and continue to do so currently. In addition, he served as one of the primary vocalists for the Doo Wop group known as the Edsel's, which was established by his father, James C. Reynolds. The Edsels achieved a Billboard national hit with their hit song "Rama Lama Ding Dong," ranking in the top 20. He was a Sunday school teacher and led devotional sessions at his father's church, the Early Morning Church of God in Christ. Additionally, he was lead vocalist for more than ten years on the Sunday night live church broadcast. Jeff was a passionate football aficionado, following the sport at the college and professional level. Jeff had a strong affection for visiting his relatives in Detroit, Michigan. However, in 1994, he permanently settled in the Tampa-Clearwater, Florida region. Jeff has a kind and serene nature cherished by his family and friends. He enhanced the holidays by singing songs, engaging in family games, and relishing Thanksgiving football with his family and friends.

The individuals who will remember him are his parents, Dr. James and Louise Reynolds, as well as his siblings: Miriam Mitchell of Tampa, Florida; Baron (Gina) Reynolds of Brandon, Florida; Dr. Patrick F (Aida) Reynolds of Springhill, Florida; Christopher (Angel) Reynolds of Warren, Ohio; Carlise (Rosalind) of Clearwater, Florida; Lucheer Reynolds (Mark Holinshed) of Youngstown, Ohio; Sabrina (Brian) Smith of Titusville, Florida; Felecia (Janerio) Crankfield of Titusville, Florida; Daneen Dean of Detroit, Michigan; Debra Billingsley of Detroit, Michigan; and Dennis Dean of Detroit, Michigan. Many relatives, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews are mourning his death.

In addition to his maternal and paternal grandparents, he is preceded in death by his (maternal) mother, Marva Rupert, Sister Debbie Reynolds, brother-in-law Carl (JD) Mitchel, nephew Randy Allen, niece Patrice Reynolds, and several deceased aunts and uncles.
