James Butler Obituary

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Reed’s Chapel A.M.E. Church for Mr. James Butler, 76, of Youngstown, who departed this life Saturday, April 8, 2018 at the Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Mr. Butler was born May 8, 1941 in Youngstown, a son of Booker and Kreba Anderson Butler.  He was a member of Reed’s Chapel A.M.E. and was a U. S. Army veteran.  James enjoyed driving for himself and others, billiards, singing and social games.

He leaves to cherish his beloved memories, his daughter, Kisha T. Elzy of Warren; three grandchildren, Marco, Markie, Kyla; a great grandson, Marco III; a son, Emery M. Elzy of Warren; a niece, Vanessa Sistrunk of Swedesboro, New Jersey; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; mother and stepfather, Kreba and Joe McRae; two brothers, Robert McCall and Booker “June” Butler, Jr.; a sister, Fannie Mae Copeland; and four stepbrothers, Amos, Joe, Hosea and Ferman McRae.

Friends may call Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Arrangements entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
