Ms. Jacqueline L. Mitchell, 75, of Youngstown, Ohio, departed this life on Monday, June 8, 2026.
Affectionately known as “Queen Mother,” Ms. Mitchell was born on July 12, 1950, in Warren, Ohio, to Howard L. Reeder and Katherine C. Bell Reeder. She was a 1968 graduate of The Rayen School. Jacqueline was a loving and devoted homemaker who enjoyed music, dancing, shopping, traveling, cooking, and watching television, especially In the Heat of the Night, The Jeffersons, and Pose, which was her favorite.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ronetta (William) Mitchell, Janaro (Quana) Mitchell, and JaCarr L. Sims, all of Youngstown; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Tonya L. Barnette of Atlanta, Georgia, and Cheryl Davis of Youngstown; as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Jacqueline was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard L. Reeder Jr., Herman L. Reeder, and Harold L. Reeder; her sisters, Patti L. Reeder and Judy L. Reeder Meeks; nephews Andre’ D. Reeder and Jasmon L. Reeder; and great-niece Timia P. Wallace.
Family and friends may pay their respects during visitation on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
