Mr. Howard Jackson, 78, of Youngstown transitioned to eternal peace on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Jackson, affectionately known as “Zeke”, was born August 23, 1946 in Youngstown, a son of Ned and Eunice Herring Jackson. He attended South High School. Howard had been employed with the Ply-Trim Lumber Company as a forklift operator for 12 years, retiring in 2011. He was also employed with the family business, Richardson Construction. Howard enjoyed music, dancing, fishing, and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers fan. His passion was spending time his great grandson, Tre’Von “Littles” Stewart Jr and his family.
He leaves to cherish his beloved memory, his wife, the former Michelle D. Howard; his children, Daryl L. Copeland of Ohio, Prentice Childs and Mark Howard both of Youngstown, and Maunjaleic of Pittsburgh, PA; siblings, Patricia Thompkins of Los Angeles, CA, Brenda (Jesse) James of Youngstown, Nancy Richardson of Boardman and Earnest Jackson of Cincinnati; 11 grandchildren including three whom he helped to rear, Tre’Von Stewart, Octavia Howard and Alize Willis; 12 great grandchildren; a niece whom he cared for deeply, Yolanda “Yummie” Tubbs; a cousin, Bernard Jackson of Youngstown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; mother and stepfather, Eunice and Nathaniel Richardson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church, 111 Water Street, Girard, Ohio 44420. A celebration of life will follow at 11:00 a.m. There will be Live stream on the website of Friendship Baptist Church of Girard.
