Herman Wolf Obituary

We celebrate the life and homecoming of Herman James Wolf born in Youngstown, Ohio on June 5, 1944.  Growing up he was affectionately known as “Hubby”.  He was the fourth child in a family of nine children.  He graduated from The North High School in 1962, where he participated in basketball and football.  Hubby was a great speed swimmer and was undefeated at Lincoln Pool in Youngstown.  Upon graduation he proudly served in the US Navy from 1962 to 1965 on the USS Saratoga.

After leaving the Navy, he lived in several states, including New York, Pennsylvania, and Michigan and eventually came back to Ohio.  Herman held many management positions, he served as a clothing store manager of Bonds Clothing in Brooklyn, NY, Lazy Boy in Pennsylvania, and managed Hills Department store in Youngstown, Oh.  He ended his working days here at home in 2007 as Foreman at Packard Electric.

Hubby was very business minded and had an entrepreneurial spirit selling clothing and jewelry.  We always said Hubby could sell anything!  He was one of the sharpest dressers you ever met, he loved shoes and hats.  He always drove sharp cars, you would never see him in a dirty car.  Hubby loved spending time with his family and traveling back to New York after relocating to Ohio.  He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers. He also loved watching movies and listening to gospel sermons on the radio.

He is survived by his children, Bryant Youngblood Sr., April Dothard, Derek Wolf, Talya Moncrease, Hiedi, Rachael and Rebecca McClinton, Tanisha Hurt; his siblings, Dian Wolf King, David (Delores) Wolf, Dennis Wolf, Gregory Wolf, and Eva Wolf (Toni) Hill; a wide circle of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who will carry his memory forward. Herman had a special bond with his grandson, Bryant Youngblood Jr., nephew, Clifford Anderson, niece, Angie King and a special friend, Sandra Adams Dean.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Wolf, his mother, Christine McElroy Wolf, sister, Dorothy Wolf Anderson, brothers, William Wolf Jr and Nelson Wolfe.
