Our friend, father, brother, uncle, husband, and teacher, Harvey Robbins, graduated from Earth School on September 11, 2025, in College Park, GA, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Harvey Douglas Robbins was born September 26, 1941, to Herman Robbins and Rubell Estell Shelly Robbins in Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from East High School in 1960 and immediately entered the US Air Force, where he served a tour in the Vietnam War and honorably completed his 20-year career, primarily serving in Far East Asia.
Harvey was a 32nd Degree mason, a certified Tai Chi instructor, and long-time youth soccer coach. He was an avid chess player and loved music, singing, dancing and dressing to the nines, with his unmistakable style of western boots and gambler hats.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Scharmann Robbins, his brothers Ronald Robbins and Timothy James, as well as his sister Selena James. He also leaves behind two children, Aaron Robbins (Mary Jean) and Maria Merlo (Christopher), as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Herman, his mother, Rubell, three brothers, William Clark, Lawrence Whited, and Paul Robbins, and two sisters, Elsie Robbins Tarpley and Susan James.
