Grace Marie Yates Williams

Grace Marie Yates Williams, 92, was born March 8, 1932, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert Yates and Lee George Britt. She was raised in Youngstown with her seven siblings, Ruth Yates, Dorothy Hodge, Annette Douglas, Roland Yates, James Yates, Melvin Yates, and Tommy Yates.

Grace worked as a custodian for the Youngstown Board of Education for many years and was a woman with strong work ethics. She was a member of Temple Emanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church of Youngstown, Ohio.

Grace was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, daughter, sister, special aunt and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Ruth M. Williams, Arlene L. Yancey, and Anita Marie Hoffman. She was blessed with fifteen grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren and twenty-four great-great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is loved and embraced by her family, and those she encountered throughout her life’s journey. She will be truly missed by all her family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her two daughters, Claudia Lee Stanford, and Diana Marie Yancey.

Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at L. E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home,  1951 McGuffey Rd., Youngstown Ohio, 44505 Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will take place at theBelmont Park Cemetery 3346 Belmont Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44505.
