Geraldine "Geri" Lee

            Mrs. Geraldine Lee, 88, of Campbell, Ohio, departed this life on December 31, 2025 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital with her family at her side.

            Geraldine, affectionately known as “Geri” was born October 16, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama, a daughter to Clinton and Louise Maddox Johnson.  She was a graduate of Parker High School in Alabama before moving to the Youngstown area with her family.  She obtained her LPN certification from the Hannah Harrison School.  Geraldine worked for St. Elizabeth Hospital and retired after 41 years of service.  She was a dedicated member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Ministry, and was a member of the ICUA (Interdenominational Church Ushers Association) Youngstown Chapter.

            She was active in the Order of Eastern Star; Past Grand Matron – Dorcas Chapter #39 O.E.S., Elizabeth Chapter OES State of Ohio Inc. working under the Mist Worshipful St. John’s Grand Lodge AF& AM, Silver Star # 4 OES, Minerva Court #5 Order of Amarath, Elizabeth Court #1 Heroines of Jericho, Lady Knights #24, Ruth Court #23 Ancient Arabic Order of Daughter of Sphinx, and #24 Roses of the Seven Seals.

            Geri leaves to mourn her passing, and to celebrate her life and legacy, her daughters, Tamica (Tim) Timlin and Wynetta Lee both of Campbell; a stepson, Leander McNeil of Anniston, Alabama; three grandchildren, Brandon, Kevin and Maya; sister-in-law, Peggy Johnson; good friends, Aggie Johnson and Peggy Campbell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

            Besides her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, John Adams Lee, whom she married in 1976 and who passed away April 30, 2008; sisters, Felicia Johnson-Braxton, Catherine Maddox and Mary Jane Johnson; brothers, Roy Sr., Joshua and Tommy Johnson.

            Visitation will be Monday, January 12, 2026 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Friendship Baptist Church, 646 Lakewood Ave., Youngstown.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 a.m.

            Ministry of comfort, love and dignity was entrusted to the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
