Evangelist Amanda Jane Gregory, 84, of Youngstown, departed this life on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Adventura Humility House with her family at her side.
Evangelist Gregory was born September 6, 1939 in Loraine Ohio, a daughter of Marshall and Money Shedd Gregory. She was a 1956 graduate of East High School and received her Business degree from ITT. Amanda had worked as a mail clerk with Forum Health North and South Side Hospitals, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a former member of Phillips Chapel C.O.G.I.C. and presently attended Victory at Liberty.
She leaves to cherish her beloved memory two children, Rhonda K. (Robert) Williams of Youngstown, and George Thompson of Austintown; a daughter-in-law, Marlene Thorpe; two sisters, Mary Agee and Lucille (Max) Hutchinson; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Thorpe III; granddaughter, Jasmine Thorpe; six sister, Elizabeth, Rose, and Matell Gregory, Dorothy Carter, Alice Salters, and Haressah Hooks; nine brothers, Marshall Jr., Cisco, Leroy, John, Samuel, Joseph, Elmer, Curtis and Charles Gregory.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m
