Eranie Elphenia Spiva Carter

Our beloved Eranie Elphenia Spiva Carter, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 31, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at home.

Eranie was born Feb. 10, 1949, in Louisville, Mississippi, to the parents of Willie H. Spiva and Canarie Jones Spiva. She graduated from Warren Western Reserve High School in 1967.

After school, she went to Lewis Weinberger & Hill School of Cosmetology and became a Managing Cosmetologist, Instructor, and Salon Owner. She went on to work for Packard Electric, which she retired after 30 years.

Eranie married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Carter, on May 23, 1982. They shared 42 years of marriage and many memories together. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She spent her Sunday mornings worshiping at the Church at Warren with Pastor David Natale. Not only did she worship but she served as well. She was an Intercessory Prayer Warrior, served with her husband in Children's Ministry, Hospitality Committee, Marriage Counselor, Wedding Planner, and organized church cookouts. She made sure to let everyone know that Jesus Christ was her Lord and Savior.

Not only was she beautiful on the outside, but she was a beautiful person on the inside. She was the person everyone went to when they needed advice. Eranie had a personality like none other. Her presence brought joy, laughter and love to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and unwavering love. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, exercising with her Silver Sneakers Group, vacationing with family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Eranie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by (5) sons, Keith (Monica)Spiva of Canton, OH, Robert (Wanda) Carter of Baytown, TX, Ruben Carter of Hodge, LA, Michael (Kity) Carter of Warren, OH, Aaron (Rachael) Carter of Streetsboro, OH; (22) grandchildren; (7) greatgrandchildren. She also leaves to cherish a special lady that was in her life, her Mother-in-law, Beverly Rose Bryant. (3) sisters, Diretha (Waverly) Franklin of Howland, OH, Michelle (Lee) Randolph of Stone Mountain, GA, Debbie Spiva of Youngstown, OH; (4) brothers, Willie Hershel Spiva of Warren, OH, Kenny (Maria) Spiva of Lawrence, GA, Michael (Cheryl) Spiva of Smyrna, GA, Sheldon (Diane) Spiva of Hermitage, PA, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She will live on in our hearts forever and will be dearly missed.

Eranie is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Howard and Canarie Spiva.

Calling Hours will be Thursday September 12, 2024, from 9:00am-10:00am at Church at Warren, 3179 Bazetta Road, Cortland, OH 44410 with funeral services immediately following.

Final resting will be at Pine Knoll Cemetery.
