Enrique Aquino Obituary

Mr. Enrique “Henry” Aquino, 78, of Youngstown, departed this life on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Greenbriar Healthcare Center, with his loving wife and daughters by his side.

Mr. Aquino was born August 1, 1947 in Mayagues, Puerto Rico, a son of Candelaria Figueroa and Leocadio Enrique Aquino.

He had been employed as a laborer with the American Steel Foundries until he was injured in 1975.  He was a long time member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, where he dedicated his life to the Lord and served on the usher board.  To the church members, he was known as Brother Aquino, but to most, he was affectionately known as “Mr. Henry”.  He will always be remembered by his church family as the “Candy Man”, as he would always pass out peppermints and the little strawberry bon bons.

Henry enjoy watching boxing and western movies.  He was an avid New York Knicks, Yankees and Giants fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.  Henry was known for his roast turkey and ribs; and was often called “Mr. Fixit” because of the love he had for his tools.  He also enjoyed sitting in his recliner shining his jewelry and showing off all of his collectors items.  He loved using his camcorder at family events.  His favorite pop was “Sprite”.  He loved spoiling his wife with clothes and gifts, and referred to her as “his Queen”.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 26 years, the former Robin Woods, whom he married October 10, 1999; three children, Marquita (J. R.) Tellington of Boardman, Melissa Jones of Youngstown, and son, Floyd Aquino of Tennessee; four grandchildren, Makell, Dezirae, Jaliyah and Jayden; two sisters, Norma Iris Cosme of New Jersey , and Isabel Maldonada of Brooklyn, NY; his sister-in-law, Shirley (James) Scott of Rineyville, KY; the entire Davis family; his best friend of many years, Maurice Hines and a host of nieces, and nephews from New York; and other family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Aquino; brother, Jose Angel Aquino; sister, Alicia Rodriques; and grandparents, Angelia Figueroa Garcia and Gullermo Figueroa.
